It’s Not Yours to Give

One day in the House of Representatives, a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in its support. The Speaker was just about to put the question when Crockett arose: We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money.

The American Experiment began with those who settled this nation. They left their homeland with the hope of establishing themselves a new life where they could be free to make their dreams come true. It is this hope that tamed the wild west and made America what it is today.

Hugs Are Healing

Hugs are special. They give warmth to the soul and comfort to those who have suffered. They bring a distinct feeling to the soul that cannot be duplicated by any other action. They are blessings and a gift from one person to another. They give strength to those who feel weak and sometimes release locked up tears that were not allowed to escape before the hug.

Why Is America Great

Listen to the last part of this video where Boehner gets emotional about America and his ability to come up from the working ranks and become a legislator. That's what's great about America and what makes us proud of being an American.

Face of America

I hope people will think about how America is portrayed around the world when they criticize our nation and her President. Hey, I am one who objects sometimes to the President’s policies, but I do it with respect for his position. He is America, and represents us because we elected him…supposedly because he represents our views. If he does not represent our views, then we need to be a lot more responsible in electing our President and representatives to Congress.

America Today

Early settlers had to fight in order to survive the challenges this land presented to them. They had to tame the land first and then develop a cooperative relationship with the natives before they could prosper in America. As if these challenges were not enough, they had to fight against England's attempts to claim America for themselves.
